Hello All, I am finally getting the Jag v-12 running... its been rebuilt with new rings/ valve lapping/ bearings in spec/ updated oiling system/ cam sensor/ etc . i clean installed newest ( dec 2023) FOME onto the proteus F4 and updated the tune-- only one error about a graph needing to be fixed. so that seems to be good. i had it set for Wasted spark, and it seemed to be only firing on every other rotation. not every rotation. I have a video i can post on youtube of the timing light on the crank wheel to show this . BUT ... now i have put the cam sensor into the wiring. so am trying to make that work. question. how do i set the cam sensor spark firing? so can pick spark #1 fires on first revolution... or second revolution... of crank? ( fire on first half or second half of cam revolution) ? switching this in software and seeing which setting works is easier than taking apart the cam system to check it manually. Hey guys. I've got a 1977 Datsun 620 that's barely a Datsun anymore. It's more Miata than anything. Currently the truck is sitting on a full custom tube frame with miata subframes bolted in. The shock towers were 3D scanned and CNCed to maintain proper miata suspension geometry. Suspension mods include Tein coilovers, Destroy or Die upper and lower front control arms, Driftworks upper rear control arms, and extended steering tie rods. Wheel setup Cosmis xt006rs 18x11 +8 with 40mm adapters. Front: 275/35 Rear: 315/30 Under the non-existant hood lies a 1990 Mazda Miata turboed 1.6l. Running 650cc Fuel Injector Clinic injectors. Larger fuel pump. SpeedyEFI ECU. It's got plenty more done to it but that's the major stuff.

There is a growing need for a project that is able to provide contorllers and software that is under the control of the user and not big tech. We have reached a situation where subscription models are becoming the norm and manufacturers are trying to shut users out of their own vehicles. This is increasingly becoming a problem in the motorsport and research world as well as simply from the need to repair vehicles. In order to meet this intention FOME has at it's heart the following guiding principals: Standards - it is the goal of FOME that where reasonably possible the best care will be taken to meet automotive standards, follow industry best practices and provide hardware and software that is fit for purpose. Standardisation - FOME intend to set down guidelines that can be used to produce FOME compatible hardware, help guide the development of software and overall ensure that everything in the ecosystem will play nice together and be as compatible as possible. Modularity - Standardisation leads to the ability to have modular hardware and systems that allow for easy replacement or upgrading of individual parts within the ecosystem. FOME will strive for the greatest modularity possible so that where reasonable there is a viable repair or upgrade path. Quality - FOME was founded with the intention of providing the best quality possible for users and developers, this means avoiding shortcuts, not being tempted to sacrifice quality for the sake of costs and to reject the race to the bottom seen with other open source hardware. This will mean that FOME compatible hardware is not the cheapest but it will always be hardware that you can trust. Incremental growth - FOME believe that growth should be controlled and directed towards the best use of resources. The project aims to meet this by taking a measured approach when adding to the project, this may mean that feature development is slower than it could otherwise be but that the features meet our standards and provide the best possible functionality.
